Australian Staging and Rigging has been involved in many of the major sporting, entertainment and cultural events which have taken place in Australia, particularly Adelaide over the last 20 years. The company is part of a group of South Australian companies which developed its capabilities during the Adelaide Formula 1 Grand Prix era and has gone on to become an industry leader.As well as a wide range of events of all sizes and complexities in and around its home city of Adelaide, ASR is equally at home sending specialist teams to annual events such as the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 and the Lexmark Indy 300 or one off events such as an opera in the outback of South Australia or the recent FINA World Swimming Championships in Melbourne in 2007.

Australian Staging and Rigging is the official supplier of temporary grandstand seating and corporate platforms to the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 Event,held annually in Bathurst NSW. Our working relationship goes back to when V8 Supercar Events took over the management of the Bathurst 1000 Event in 2005. At that time we extended an existing agreement between ASR and the event’s previous promoter.
Considerable pre-planning and labour resource is put into delivering our requirements ahead of schedule. During this time ASR is in close communication with us ensuring the smooth delivery of what is a significant part of our event. In the time I have been working with ASR, they have always finished their part of the project well in time for the start of the event. ASR works in really well with the other contractors; Robbo and the ASR team are always ready to step in and help when someone else needs a hand.

Australian Staging and Rigging has had a close working relationship with the South Australian Cricket Association for a number of years now. They have been involved in many of the major concerts we have hosted over the years including Billy Joel, Elton John and Madonna. Most recently ASR built the 'Warnie Wing' and a scaffold structure which enabled the Rugby World Sevens to turn the electronic scoreboard into a giant jukebox adding to the incredible atmosphere and entertainment on offer.

For a number of years now ASR has been providing platforms for corporate hospitality in a variety of configurations in a variety of locations around the ground. As well as this they have built camera towers and a significant amount of temporary grandstand seating to increase the seating capacity during One Day Internationals and Test Matches. Australian Staging and Rigging has its origins in the rock and roll industry and has been involved in most of the international touring concerts which have come through Adelaide over the last 20 years. Beginning with Dire Straits in the mid eighties ASR has seen the scale and complexities of these events grow dramatically over the years.The scope of works over that time has included:

• building loading ramps over seating to allow stage equipment for concerts to be wheeled onto stage
• erecting steel work and staging for concerts such as Robbie Williams and U2
• installing temporary staircases access ramps
• performing work at heights.

Jamie Butterfield, the Head Grounds man for the SANFL at AAMI Stadium in Adelaide since 1995 has worked closely with ASR during that time. “ASR is big on customer service. Australian Staging and Rigging, in conjunction with Melbourne based seating specialists AAA Sating provided temporary seating at the diving venue for the 2007 FINA World Swimming Championships which were held in Melbourne. The diving venue was the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC).ASR’s staff were wonderful to work with. Neil Trimble and Pedro McColl took a large amount of personnel pride in their work and as such were willing to work with the Corporation and other contractors to ensure that the best result could be reached for the event as a whole.

During the course of the event ASR had a very proactive approach toward safety which gave all involved peace of mind.This is something that is not always evident with other contractors and their manner on site was excellent considering they were moving through the general public. They maintained an excellent demeanor with, venue staff, the corporation, the general public and other contractors.
The seating package was put out to tender, however, ASR were the only company in Australia who had the capability to undertake this type of work. ASR offer seating solutions that allow for flexibility in design, allowing them to construct seats in almost any environment. This event was testament to that ability.

Australian Staging and Rigging - Events provided seating, starting ramp and a disabled platform for the 2009 World BMX Championships held at the Adelaide Showgrounds. ASR is 'a one stop shop for providing the infrastructure for these types of events requiring stages, ramps and seating.
Customer service -from the administration to graphic design, from planning to the build crews has been very commendable. Nothing was too much trouble and the experts, where needed, were consulted at all times. The on-site supervisor Rob Brandish was also very cooperative and amenable at all times – even through some of the challenges placed before him. He and his team worked safely and very effectively at all times. With all the things commanding my attention It was great to know I could leave the ASR guys to go about the business.
